tenet was…...f*cking crazy. that’s the first thing i can think of. it was so intricately filmed and the entire movie was just stunning. i mean, yeah, you gotta expect that from a nolan movie, but this was just on a whole other level. SPOILERS! the final battle scene, with one group passing in one direction of time as the other group goes the opposite was very very trippy, but also incredible. SPOILERS OVER. the storyline was super weird but also very compelling. christopher nolan is such an amazing director, and the way he builds his realities is really unlike any other director out there. playing with time, especially the future, employing that into an actual plot, is something that can be very difficult, which is why there are almost no movies out there that are quite like this one. the way that time is explained, changing something that hasn’t happened yet, but also has happened, makes absolutely no sense but complete sense at the same time. every character was wonderfully portrayed, with outstanding performances by john david washington, robert pattinson, and elizabeth debicki. the protagonist’s (yes, that’s his name) feelings of compassion are the opposite of what’s needed for his occupation, but the addition of those feelings to his character really helped to push the story along, and makes you empathize more than you would with someone who’s a stone cold killing machine. tenet’s something you definitely need to watch more than once, and i can’t wait until i can see it again, and maybe actually understand what’s going on in this freakin movie.
My Favorite Characters:
Robert Pattinson as Neil - i am personally in the rob pattinson fan club! i love him very very much, and he’s an amazing actor. he was perfect for the role of neil. i loved his laid back attitude, and extremely badass. SPOILERS! i’m not gonna lie, i’m kind of very sad that he’s dead in the future/past, but it’s fine. i’m just gonna try and forget that it happened. yay!
Elizabeth Debicki as Kat - she is the epitome of cool, calm, and collected. a lot of really horrible things have happened to her, but she still remains very chill.
This movie is rated PG-13. Here'‘s why:
Intense Sequences of Action and Violence
Some Suggestive References
Brief Strong Language
Fun Fact: robert pattinson (king) was only allowed to read the entire screenplay locked in a room alone at Warner Bros. studios. michael caine was only given his scenes to read before shooting, and said that he had no idea what the movie was about, even though he and christopher nolan are close friends.
Where to Watch: It’s still in theaters! If you wanna give it a watch, make sure you’re staying safe and wearing a mask!
