phineas and ferb are back, baby! i was a little nervous going into this movie. nervous that it wouldn’t live up to the show and across the second dimension. it’s been a while since we got some new phineas and ferb content, so i was a lil scared. looking back on that, i don’t even know how i could have felt such a thing when i knew that dan povenmire and jeff ‘swampy’ marsh were behind the wheel. something i absolutely adore about the phineas and ferb universe is how smart the comedy is. yes, it is a kids show, but i’m constantly rewatching the show, and finding even more jokes that i didn’t catch when i was a kid. these jokes don’t even have to be mature, they just make you think a little more, but are still funny as hell. watching this movie gave me such a huge wave of nostalgia, and seriously made me feel like i was a kid again. phineas and ferb will do that to you, especially if you enjoyed the series as a kid. with a solid plot, funnier-than-ever characters, and new music (!!), p and f: candace against the universe knocked it out of the park. if you’re like me and was absolutely obsessed with this show as a child, this movie is a must watch. even if you didn’t watch it, it’s definitely worth an hour and a half of your time. who knows, it might turn you into a fan! (rightfully so) and if you’re asking “aren’t you a little old to be watching phineas and ferb?” no, no we’re not.
My Favorite Character:
Dan Povenmire as Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz - do i even need to explain this one?? if you don’t like dr. doofenshmirtz, there is something….very very wrong. his songs are iconic, his one-liners are god-tier. he also kind of wins dad of the year, because despite the fact that being “evil” is his entire personality, he will take a break from his inators (™) and go save his daughter. i also love how dumb he is for a scientist - imagine not knowing basic quantum physics? classic doof. we love to see it 10000% of the time.
This movie is rated TV-G. Here’s why:
Mild Cartoon Violence
Something I liked: the fact that jeremy is a LARPer. dan and swampy, you’re godd*mn geniuses. it’s so ridiculously funny for absolutely no reason and was talked about for all of 2 minutes, but still ended up being one of my favorite parts of the entire movie.
