DAVE

Never ever EVER watch this show with your parents. All of the jokes were either a d*ck joke or something borderline offensive, but I guess that was the show’s whole purpose? After a while, the jokes weren’t funny anymore - they were just weird, not laughable. It was hard to get invested in the show. The characters were kind of flat, even Dave. The actual storyline was boring at first, but slowly got better, along with the arcs of the characters. Being completely honest, the first half of the season wasn’t anything special, but if you stick around, the last 4 episodes are actually pretty good. Mental issues are discussed, along with the idea of fame and money changing the way you act and treat people. It’s a must-watch if you’re a super fan of Lil Dicky, but get ready to be treated to a man who has the humor of a 13 year old boy. If you’re a casual fan of Dicky, like I am, then you can probably skip this one.

logline: After his songs go viral on YouTube, Dave Burd (AKA Lil Dicky) wants to become the next big name in rap.

My Favorite Character:

  • Taylor Misiak as Ally - i swear, she’s the only actual normal person in this show. She was logical and realistic with Dave’s rapping career, unlike any of the other characters. However, the writers did her dirty in a MAJOR way. She was pushed aside a lot, and i think her sanity was a great balance to Dave’s insanity. The showrunners really only put her in when it was absolutely necessary, which was a letdown. #justiceforally

Something I liked: The utter CONFIDENCE that Dicky has in himself. Aspire to have that level of self-esteem. Even though sometimes it’s really freaking annoying.
