The Mandalorian
By Ava Fineza
The Mandalorian is an exciting and thrilling show, an old concept with an innovative twist. It reminded me of a lone cowboy traveling to different towns and saving the people he came across, except the cowboy is a bounty hunter and the towns are planets, all with their own cultures and beautiful settings. Watching Mando take down stormtroopers and other hunters is always a thrill, and it was heartwarming to see him bond with and protect The Child(more famously called Baby Yoda). One thing I feel the show was lacking in was some character depth as I would have loved to see more of Mando’s backstory and origin, but fingers crossed they touch more on that in season 2. Overall, The Mandalorian is a great addition to the Star Wars universe that can still stand on its own.
logline: The travels of a lone bounty hunter in the outer reaches of the galaxy, far from the authority of the New Republic.
Source: Disney+
Fun Fact: The Mandalorian is the first live-action Star Wars series.
My Favorite Characters:
Pedro Pascal as the Mandalorian - even though you can’t see his face, Mando is still expressive through his movements & actions. Props to Pedro on A+ body language, I’m excited to see more of the person behind the helmet :)
Puppets n’ CGI as Baby Yoda(actually called The Child) - Has no lines but still stole the show. I mean, come on, the ears ! ;-;
Gina Carano as Cara Dune - super bad*ss(pardon my french), cool backstory, comes off as aloof but has your back. Essentially, she can kill you but can also babysit your alien child- what more do you need?
Where to Watch: Disney+
Number of Seasons: 1, second season releasing October 2020.
Rating: TV-PG - very mild language, watch out for violence(he kills people for a living, so…)
Spoilers on this one!!!11!1!!
