Psych

Psych is one of the funniest shows I’ve ever watched. Shawn and Gus are the comedic duo that everybody needs in their life. The cases that the SBPD take on can be quite serious; identity theft, grand larceny, even murder. However, the show’s writing, along with Roday and Hill’s comedic timing, turn the darkness of the crimes into an almost satire of the cop shows that seem to have a million spinoffs (looking at you, NCIS).

logline: When Shawn Spencer is accused of being involved in a kidnapping case, his heightened senses of observation and logic help him find the real culprit. In order to qualify himself, he tells the entire police department that he is psychic. As he begins to solve crimes with the reluctant help of his best friend, Gus, Shawn continues to impress the Santa Barbara PD.

My favorite characters:

  • James Roday as Shawn Spencer - one of the funniest characters i’ve ever seen on television. his humor is just on another level.

  • Dulé Hill as Burton Guster - gus is also really funny, but in a different way from shawn. his more chill and laidback personality perfectly balances shawn’s eager and snarky one.

This show is rated TV-PG. Here’s why:

  • Mild Language

  • Smoking

Fun Fact: Psych also has a TV movie titled Psych: The Movie, which takes place three years after the ending of the series. A second movie Psych 2: Lassie Come Home is being released this year.
