The Bourne Ultimatum

This movie was craZ craZ. It’s such a great watch because everything is so nervewracking, but at the same time SO entertaining. Matt Damon does an incredible job as Jason Bourne, as usual, as he kicks a whole lot of a*s all the way across the world to find out why he was trained to become a merciless killer. I really enjoyed Damon’s performance in this movie, as opposed to the first two movies, where he doesn’t really….show many emotions? I loved delving into Bourne’s backstory along with him, and piecing together the blurry memories of his past. Although the actual plot of the movies are quite basic (find the bad guy, but bad guy has a bigger and badder boss that’s running the whole shebang), they still manage to keep you entertained for the entirety of this two hour movie. The entirety of this franchise has been likened to a “21st century James Bond”, and I believe this is probably the most accurate description of the Bourne series to date. The action of the numerous fight scenes, combined with the mystery of Bourne’s past, makes for a slightly less cheesy Bond.

logline: Jason Bourne dodges a ruthless C.I.A. official and his Agents from a new assassination program while searching for the origins of his life as a trained killer.

My Favorite Character:

  • Matt Damon as Jason Bourne - i meannnnn…. obviously. why wouldn’t I put Bourne as my favorite character? He’s bada*s, and Matt Damon did a lot of his own stunts, which I find very very cool.

Fun Fact: we have never seen Jason Bourne actually smile in “present day clips”. only in flashbacks. give the man a break :(

This movie is rated PG-13. Here’s why:

  • Violence and Brief Gore

  • Intense Action Scenes
