This show is pure gold. From the characters, to the story, to the amazing one-liners, it’s amazing. It makes you laugh, makes you cry, and is just overall one of the best shows I’ve ever seen in my life. Besides being a comedy, it’s also a really smart show that discusses topics such as sexual assault and the hardships that are overcome by the people in the LGBTQ+ community. The storyline is just so realistic to the lives of teenagers today, and the actors portray these characters in such a raw and iconic way. We don’t get a lot of shows like this, so you can’t let this one pass you by. This series is a must-see, not just for our generation, but for everyone.

logline: Otis Milburn’s mother is a sex therapist. So when the school’s resident bad girl, Maeve Wiley, realizes Otis’s untapped potential as a moneymaker, she gives him an opportunity to therapize their classmates through an underground sex clinic.

My favorite characters:

  • Emma Mackey as Maeve Wiley - the baddest b*tch of all. She’s so f*cking cool. Her hard outer shell hides the fact that she’s actually a softie and a literal genius.

  • Aimee Lou Wood as Aimee Gibbs - such a cutie! she’s such a sweet girl, and her friendship with Maeve is everything that female friendship should be. even though her character can seem shallow and silly, she’s layered and complex just like everyone else.

  • Ncuti Gatwa as Eric Effiong - his outfits and one-liners are some of the best parts of the entire show. he’s so much more than the token “gay best friend” that we’ve seen before, and is just straight up iconic.

This show is rated TV-MA. Here’s why:

  • Explicit Sexual Content

  • Language throughout

  • Use of Alcohol and Drugs

Something I liked: The character’s outfits, the music played on the show, and the overall bold and brightly colored aesthetic of the show is highly drawn from classic teen movies from the 80’s.
