The Stranger

sooooo, my mom and I binged the ENTIRETY of season 1 in one sitting. About 6 hours of television. Now, you may be asking yourself, “worth it?” and I am here to tell you, yes, absolutely. I have never seen anything more full of plot twists in my LIFE. This show pulls you in from the very beginning and keeps you hooked til the very last minute. There’s never a dull moment, with all the different storylines, each of which is more insane than the last. Although some of the endings were a bit...sloppy, it’s still a really fun watch. It’s one of those shows that you just can’t pull yourself away from. The concept was very interesting, and I would love to see a Season 2 from this series, although that doesn’t seem too likely at this point. Even though this series is kind of a “one and done”, it’s perfect if you’re looking to start a show, but not put a commitment into 3 or 4 seasons. All of the actors were great in their roles, and even though there wasn’t too much actual character development, everyone did a really great job, especially the youngest son, Ryan (played by Misha Handley). The mystery surrounding the neighborhood was incredibly well spun by the directors, and will make you question whether you really know the people you live with. Side Affects Include: Mild Paranoia.

logline: Adam Price is a happily married father of two whose life is turned upside-down after a stranger tells him a secret about his wife. The revelation catapults him into a world of danger.

My Favorite Character:

  • Hannah John-Kamen as The Stranger - who wouldn’t wanna expose everyone’s secrets?? She is VERY cool, and even though she’s technically the “antagonist”, you still find yourself rooting for her.

This show is rated TV-MA. Here’s why:

  • Gore

  • Language

Fun Fact: Episode 5 was written by Charlotte Coben, the daughter of Harlan Coben, who wrote the novel the series is based off of.
