Heading into its premiere, I knew absolutely NOTHING about

Locke & Key,

other than the fact that Griffin Gluck was in it. By the end of the first episode, I was instantly hooked by the town of Matheson, the vicious murder of Rendell Locke, the mysterious well house, and “Echo,” the girl living inside the well. I think that the premise of the show was super interesting and captivating. Each episode had new twists and turns, and the many different keys and their benefits were fun to follow. The series had the perfect balance of fantasy, mystery, and a slight bit of horror. I really liked that the story was centered around the Locke house, but constantly introduced new places and new characters. Overall, Locke & Key was a super fun watch and I can’t wait for the second season.

logline: After the murder of their father, the three Locke siblings move from their big-city lives to their father’s childhood home. After their arrival in the small town of Matheson, Bode, Kinsey, and Tyler begin to find strange keys around the house. But these keys aren’t for doors.

My favorite characters:

  • Emilia Jones as Kinsey Locke - although i was annoyed by kinsey at first, i grew to like her as she became more confident in herself and took charge.

  • Laysla de Oliveira as Dodge - suuuuuuuper bad*ss. even though she’s the antagonist her character is just so cool with her “i don’t give a f*ck attitude”.

  • Jackson Robert Scott as Bode Locke - what can’t this kid do? he’s such a talented actor and amazing in this show.

  • Griffin Gluck as Gabe - i love griffin gluck. do i love his character because i love him? sure. but also, his character was super sweet and he had major chemistry with kinsey.

This show is rated TV-14. Here’s why:

  • Sex

  • Fear

  • Smoking

  • Language

Fun Fact: This show is based off of the graphic novel series by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez.
