Money Heist

Am I just a sucker for heists, or is Money Heist just really good? Or both?

This show is so bingeable. There’s such a cat and mouse feel to it, and the series always keeps you dying to know what happens next.

I really like how it switches back and forth between the perspectives of the Professor’s gang, the hostages, and Raquel’s police force. The character development is also such an important part of the show - taking people that seem very surface level, and fleshing out their deepest desires and what really drives them. The thrill of the heist plus the three different narratives told by the show combine to make the perfect blend of action and emotion. The directors of the series did a truly incredible job with everything. It’s kind of strange to think that the first two seasons weren’t that popular, but then really took off after Netflix aired season 4. The series overall is just amazing, emotional, and a really fun watch.

logline: Money Heist is centered around a misfit group of criminals attempting the biggest robbery in history. The job? Stealing 2.4 billion euros from the Royal Mint of Spain.

My favorite characters:

  • Alba Flores as Nairobi - sooooooo bada*s. I also love that even though sometimes she only wants to concentrate on the heist, she has a soft and maternal side. Her and tokyo’s friendship was probably one of my favorite parts of the show.

  • Jaime Lorente as Denver - his laugh is iconic. His character was super tough, but also a huge teddy bear. I really liked his sweeter moments and the times where he was more emotional.

This show is rated TV-MA. Here’s why:

  • Sexual References and Nudity

  • Blood and Violence

Something I liked: is it weird to say i loved the aesthetic? the overall color scheme of the red jumpsuits against the black and grey interior of the bank was just really satisfying to me. a lot of the shots and camera angles in the series were also really cool, so major props to the directors.
