logline: In this contemporary version of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's detective stories, Dr. John Watson is a war vet just home from Afghanistan. He meets the brilliant but eccentric Holmes when the latter, who serves as a consultant to Scotland Yard, advertises for a flatmate. Almost as soon as Watson moves into the Baker Street flat, they are embroiled in mysteries, and Sherlock's nemesis, Moriarty, appears to have a hand in the crimes.
My favorite characters:
Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes - A self proclaimed “highly functioning sociopath”. He is everyone’s favorite pretentious misanthropic detective. Benedict brings some much needed depth to Sherlock beyond the usual wit and cynicism.
Martin Freeman as John Watson - Sherlock’s loyal to a fault companion who would follow him into fire if prompted. He is the perfect person to react when Sherlock says something astounding. Martin Freeman never disappoints and his cute little run doesn’t either.
Andrew Scott as Moriarty - The hot priest from Fleabag gives his take on this iconic villain. He is so vile but has a way about him that makes him magnetic. The best Moriarty interpretation out there, especially when he has scenes with Sherlock.
