Love Life

The soft artsy girl inside of me SCREAMS for this show. It’s a rom-com played out across 10 half-hour episodes which I enjoyed because there was more time to explore each of Darby’s relationship. Even though it still had the cheesiness of a rom-com, it had some pretty sincere moments, and serious topics, including alcoholism and addiction.

Anna Kendrick does a great job as Darby, in arguably one of her best roles.

I appreciated how Darby could be kind of unlikable at times, making her somewhat of a rom-com anti-hero - I wasn’t always rooting for her, which kept the show very realistic. I’m wondering what direction the show will take with Season 2. Will it pick back up with Darby, or will it introduce another character? The vibes of this entire show were honestly immaculate. I loved the set and costume design. This show is definitely worth a watch if you love the soft girl, “in love with life” aesthetic. Even though it was called “simplistic” and “boring” by some, I loved Love Life, and can’t wait for Season 2!

logline: Anna Kendrick stars in a fresh take on a romantic comedy anthology series about the journey from first love to lasting love, and how the people we're with along the way make us into who we are when we finally end up with someone forever.

My Favorite Things from the series:

  • Zoe Chao as Sara Yang - train wreck but make it fabulous. i kind of related to sara too much to be healthy. i think it’s fine. anyways, i freaking LOVED her story line throughout the series, and you can really see her development towards the end. i really hope we get to see more of her in Season 2.

  • the SOUNDTRACK. good lord, it was so good. it was very alt pop/rock, so if you’re into that, definitely give this a listen. unfortunately, there is no official soundtrack (at least that i’ve found), but here’s one that will tide you over until they release one.
